W e d d i n g *Mega Blog Edition*
So yes, I am lazy.
But it has been a very busy couple of weeks since then. But now the wedding review. And oh for the rumor that there is a "secret" blog. It's probably true. Let us begin our story in the Kittrick Home:
Friday night the 5th of December. Getting final things ready, packing, showering, eating gross soup and off to the Biltmore in Providence for rehearsal and dinner. Practiced everything we were gonna do in the ceremony, go to see the "garden room", and met up with the groomsmen, none of whom I had seen in months. The room was really nice, with gorgeous chandelier's. The groomsmen on the other hand, not so much. Moving on...
Walked down the street to a pub for dinner. I wanna say it was called Smith's but i'm probably lyeing. It was right across the street from Lupos, which was also where my car was parked. I decided to live on the edge and park my car on the street in providence, because I found out that it was gonna cost 22 Snack Wraps a night to park at the hotel. So I payed a homeless guy 2 bucks to watch my car, he also held my hand, it was kinda weird.
So we go into the pub and they have a backroom that was all our's with our own pool table and buffet. Good Idea. The seating arrangement I liken to the bibical event of the parting of the red sea. You had the Floridians and company on one side. Empty table in the middle. Then Local's and malek's on the other side. No one dare cross the middle zone. Yes, awkward my friends. But then the wedding party made up of both side's filled in the middle and it got better. Then we all ate and had beverages and it got a lot better. And by the end of the night both side's were exchanging pleasant banter. ha.
Myself, and my dear Marlene. Bounded. haha. Told story's and giggled a lot. Then after that walked down to Trinity Brewhouse mmmm, and met up with some friends for more banter. Then walked back to the Biltmore and went up to our Presidental Suite. Yup, we shared with the bride to be, and made of honor. More giggling then bed around 2:45 am.
The next morning began at 7:30 with the craps. Maybe it was nerves, or it coulda been the kielbasa that was purchased on the street, nonetheless there it was. Walked upstairs to the Ballroom, where the reception would take place and began to decorate. Then hair dresser extrodinar Spence came to do our hair in the room. So by idk 10:30-11 I was primped and good to go. Went back to the ballroom and helped decorate some more. When funny thing, on the top floor of the hotel could see my car, i'm like shoot there's a saab with a bright orange parking ticket. But ney' it was marlen's saab with the big bright orange ticket. So we put on huge jackets and headed down to move our car's. 15 snackwrap's ticket. Grrrrr. So I decided if it's gonna cost it might as well be at the biltmore. In the process the 100 mile an hour winds knocked a little some pieces of my hair over. It did not go over well.
So it's getting closer to the hour of 5:30. Linz malek hooked it up steaming my dress, thanks again. Kim did my makeup, thank u. Everyone was ready by 5ish, so we started taking pics. For all of you reading this from california, we've had a freak winter and the day of the wedding it was 68F. So we went outside and took pictures. Finally the moment comes, we get the call to go down and do this. All day actually the past two days, I was explained the walk that I would have to do. It's basically a one two step, pause, walk. Not to hard you say? You are a filthy liar, it is very difficult in 5 inch heels, in a gown to the floor, on a slippery red carpet, in front of 150 people. So be nice to me.
The order went like this, as I remember. Diva and Seth M-->Amy R and Jodi-->Luke ring child-->Sydney flowergirl-->Linz M-->Me-->Kim-->Marlen-->Bethany-->Kayleigh and Mr Roussin. Phew. So Linz go's and I watch her everystep. Then I get tapped and off I get. I can't really remember what was going through my head. Pretty much I just kept going 1, 2, pause, 1, 2, pause. And then looked around for comfort faces. Which is funny cause my mom sat right in front where when you turned there she was. So I saw her, and I saw tillie, who I noticed got a hair cut. I guess that's what I thought. Well I made it, and didn't fall. That was an accomplishment. Then everyone else came down. Kayleigh looked amazing, and so did the rest of the bridal party.
The Talk. It was long. I'll be honest. I thought I was gonna fall. My shoes were really high, I wanted the height, and well they were on sale. So the more he talked the more I got dizzy. I remember 5 things. 1. The cellphone of the person behind me ringing for a good 30 seconds. 2. The obnoxious boy's behind me laughing and talking during the ceremony, great friends. 3. That it was about 134F in the room, gehenna style. 4. Mr. Roussin making silly faces at me and linz. And 5. The Brother who gave the talk calling Kayleigh , Kayla. Not once but actually throughout the entire talk, even when he was corrected. But vow's were good, some people cryed. And they are married. And not that i'm one to say, but I would prob say that was the best wedding kiss i've seen. It was hollywood style, so congratulations to the bride and groom for a great wedding kiss.
Picture Time. The Biltmore is an awesome place to take pictures. We took some on the stair case, and what not. Then we headed up for a private cocktail hour. Then some drama happened. The day was very overwhelming and busy, without little boys being well little boys. I had an idea, hey lets walk into the reception wearing these sombreo's and use shakers. But apparently other people thought that was stupid. Whatever just say it. Don't take my stuff and hide it then claim you haven't seen it. What's that thing in the bible about liar's not inheriting something something. Exactly. But whatever it was handled. And yes, I got my flip flops back. And no one got beat down, although maybe they shoulda?
Reception: We made our grand entrances. Then kayleigh and brian had their first dance. Then I got to sit with my girls and relax. The reception went by so fast. Pretty much did meet and greet with a bunch of people. Then had a bowl of pasta, looking back I really shoulda had more to eat. Then danced a lot, and props to spencer who is a pro at salsa/marenga. That was fun.
Headed out of the reception and got outta my dress! Put pants out and headed out with the girls for beverages and more good times. Went again to Trinity Brewer. Drinks care of eli, who lost, hey I bet I can throw this little pearl in a that glass, he couldn't. So like 11 of us or more were there. When oh man, i haven't eaten all day. But the kitchen is closed. But have no fear thayer st is open till 2 am or later. So 11 of us got in Spencers huge truck and drove up there. 4 to a bench seat is amazing. Best was keller who was yelling at the people in the back of the truck to get down "nowish". Went to Antionoes and had the best pizza you can get at 2. Then some girls wanted to fight Keller the vegan from RISD. But they wimped out.
Back to my 2nd night at the Biltmore. Funny thing in the elevator up to the room I met some cast members from the play "Wicked" so random. Stayed up giggling with the girls and discussing kate's next husband, im sorry but it had to be said. j/k.
Next morning woke up and jumped on Nicole to welcome her to morning. Went with kate and nicole for brunch. Then met up with Marlen at her meeting in W. Warwick. Cool Hall. Then home for a little while to shower and get changed. Then went to house sit at Huckstables for the next week. Bonded with KK. Who loved to jump on my bed everynight. And I ate all of sheenas frozen oreos. Man did I miss my bed. So I guess that's pretty much it. I know i'm missing many details, but oh well.
In conclusion: A beautiful Occasion. Kayla and Brian jumped the broom. And I met a very nice homeless man, got a parking ticket, had the craps, almost got beatup, met the cast of wicked, and Did Not dance to cha-cha slide. A good weekend indeed. Goodnight
