The Sunshine State, Go Gators !
So yes here I am, again I didn't die. Maybe my blog's sometimes are just like N'sync, on indefinite Hiatus. But here is a comeback tour blog entry. GO!
So from the last entry you'll know that I went to Florida. We flew into Jacksonville, at a very early hour. Well, it wasn't that early maybe 9, but I went to bed at 3:30 (yes I was out too late partying like a rockstar) and nonnie insisted that we go to the airport 3 hours early. You do the math. So anyways into Jax we go. We get there to rent a car at the Devil aka Budget. Yeah you heard me Budget, I hate you. Apparently if your under the age of 25, you should be sent to an island and executed, you have no rights well at least not the right to rent a car. For real, even though I am 21 in order to rent a car I need to pay like $29083430 dollars a day, it is obnoxious. So after I got really angry with the women, I moved to the right to Thrifty. Ahh thrifty, they also charged me a load, but it really wasn't bad. And bum bumm bummm (that's a trumpet sound) We got a Red Pt Cruzer. Which is like the official senior citizen car of Florida. Haha that car was piece, but it did have an mp3 jack (to tune out nonnie). So from there drove down to see nick k (not nick king, nick kenyon, yes I have a lot of cousins) and Patrisha. We stayed at there house one night. Next day, I got to have lunch with Vee, and K dog. Who I haven't seen both of them in over a year, miss those girls. Then headed down to Ormond Beach / Daytona Beach where we were staying.
Our condo was kinda circa 1980, but the view was amazing. That is the view from the hotel room, it was the beach. Unfortunately we really didn't have great weather the first couple days. It was chilly. So if we can't go to the beach what do you do? Well if your 81 years old, a fun game to play is wakeup your 21 yr old granddaughter every morning at dawn, and then tell her she has to stay in the room and watch Golden Girls. Or drink wine out of a box. That's what you do when it's cold in Florida. But I was able to convince her to let me take the car back to Nick's and go to the movies. Deja Vu was good. I enjoyed it. Then I went to the bookstudy with them. They had a good bookstudy 7 little kids and 6 Adults. After the bookstudy they have a screened in pool outside. Well I was dared by a kind gentlemen to jump in with my meeting clothes on. He offered me $20. I was in the water no sooner then the words let his mouth. Hey I'm poor. Nick jumped in too, and Patrisha's mom eventually got thrown in. Then I got thrown back in after I was dry, that wasn't cool.
That night was thursday or the beginning of black friday. Down in Florida it starts at midnight. So I meet up with some girls down there and we took a mini van and started shopping at "the premium" outlets. They were sweet. A lot of sales. And a lot of people. I went to Banana which had 40% off everything in the store. And I ended up waiting in line to pay for 30 min. But it was so worth it. Gap was insane. I think a women got trampled for a pair of caprie's. (she prob deserved it) Went to a bunch more stores and finished at 3am. Oh oh a side point here. Yes I am poor. The money I spent that evening, well that is another story. One morning, I think it was a Wednesday. Nonnnie comes up to the room, and says "you wanna make $100 bucks"? Umm Does Kirsty Alley want Chocolate? We went to look a condo. Some wanna be slick guy brings us to this cute Restaurant and buys us lunch. Then gives us a 2 hour pich about why she should do this. Being the good italian she is, she refuses him very well. We walk out he door with $100. Plus the $2o from going in the pool, and now you have shopping money. It all works out.
Then Friday we had a last family dinner/brunch. We had ham and other things, delicious. Got to see the coon's and a bunch of nick's boy's. It really wasn't any different then here. Here all the boy's crowd around a tv and yell and scream about video games or the Red Sox, etc. Down there they crowd around a busted vehicle and hope that they will get it work, oh well. We headed out back to Ormond beach, and left the next day for a great journey down to Marco Island, which is off the coast of Naples. It was about a 5 hr drive down the coast. I did the first half. Nonnie argued and posted a fit but did the last half. We stopped in Tampa to have lunch. Then to marco. I've been there once before. It is so beautiful. I could def see myself living there, at least in Naples area. Nonnie has an awesome time Share. It's right on the bay side of the water. Beach is 5 min away.
So I went swimming, and to the beach, and rode my bike around, got a haircut, and argued with nonnie. Oh and we drank wine. That was the trip in naples. We went to the Naples Pier, it's a beach down there. And I think it was the most beautiful beach i've ever been too. Granted i've never been to the Caribbean or Indo. But it was a long white beach. With a pier through half of it, that you could buy ice cream and what not. The water was shallow, it's the Gulf of Mexico, and you can swim with fish, and crazy pelicans that I kept chasing cause i'm 10. Nonnie kept asking me to take her into the water because she was too shaky to go in alone, so I did. But she didn't tell me, the reason she wanted to go into the water is so she could PEE!
I'm holding her hand and I see her lift up her skirt/moo moo thingy, and go I gotta pee. GROSS, let go of me nonnie. No I need you. So I let her hold onto my pinky and try to run away. In this picture if you look at her face, you know what shes doing, I think I saw a fish float to the service after that!
I got to go out in service my last day there. And I'm glad I did. It's always nice to be out of your element with other people doing other territory. Almost every door I did was spanish. Which just confirms to me, that english is going to be the 2nd language of the USofA, that and I need to study more. We drove up on wednesday the 29th to Fort Meyers to stay at a crap hotel before our flight. It was a little sketchy. And nonnie didn't like it. And I said what do you want from a hotel that rents by the hour next to the airport....haha that woulda been funny. No I really said "what do you want from a hotel that's $60 a night?". Then we got up at the butt crack O dawn and flew out. We had a lay over in Jersey. And then we ran into a JW who was on our flight, irony.
So it's good to be home. Although I'm so behind on everything, including my suit case which a week later, is still full of clothes on my floor. Oh I miss you sunshine state, 80F days of service, and Naples Pier. However I have determined if and when I get a roommate, they will NOT be 80 yrs old. Tahh Tahh.
Ps: New entry coming soon, featuring: Special Day, Sleeping, Shower, Pioneer Dinner, and puppy's. Ok no puppy's.
